Helmet Policy: All riders must wear an ASTM/SEI-certified helmet at all times while mounted. Helmets must be properly fitted and securely fastened.
Appropriate Attire: Riders must wear appropriate riding boots with a heel. Long pants, such as jodhpurs or breeches, are required to prevent chafing and provide proper leg protection. No loose or baggy clothing that could get caught in equipment is allowed.
Horse Assignment: Horses are assigned to riders based on skill level, experience, and compatibility to ensure safety and a positive learning experience. Instructors will make the final decision on horse assignments.
Horse Welfare: The welfare of our horses is a top priority. Horses must receive adequate rest, proper nutrition, and necessary veterinary care. Any mistreatment or neglect of horses by riders or staff is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate disciplinary action.
Mounting and Dismounting: Riders should mount and dismount only in designated areas and under instructor supervision. Follow the instructor’s guidance for safe mounting and dismounting techniques.
Leading Horses: Always lead horses with a halter and lead rope. Keep a safe distance between horses and avoid leading horses too close to each other.
Supervision: All riding activities must be supervised by an instructor. Instructors must ensure that the rider-to-instructor ratio is appropriate for safety.

Purpose: The purpose of this Equine Boarding Policy is to outline the terms and conditions for boarding horses at Reef AlHijaz (the "Facility"). This policy is designed to ensure the safety, health, and well-being of all horses and provide clear guidelines for horse owners and Facility staff.
Scope: This policy applies to all horse owners boarding their horses at the Facility, as well as all Facility staff responsible for the care and management of boarded horses.
Boarding Agreement: All horse owners must sign a Boarding Agreement outlining the terms of service, fees, and responsibilities. The Agreement must be signed prior to the arrival of any horse at the Facility.
Boarding Fees: Fees cover standard services, including stall rental, basic feed, and daily turnout. Additional services are available for an extra charge. Boarding fees are due on the first day of each month. All payments not received on time are considered late. Late payments will incur a fee of 10% of the monthly boarding rate.
Veterinary Care: Horse owners must provide proof of current health prior to boarding. Owners are responsible for regular veterinary care, including vaccinations, deworming, and dental work. Records must be kept up to date and shared with the Facility. In case of an emergency, the Facility will contact the owner’s designated veterinarian. If the owner cannot be reached, the Facility may authorize emergency care at the owner's expense.
Emergency Contact: All horse owners must provide an additional emergency contact in case they are unreachable during an emergency.
Farrier Services: Horses must be kept on a regular farrier schedule. Owners can use their own farrier or the Facility’s recommended farrier. Owners must notify the Facility of scheduled farrier visits.
Feed and Nutrition: The Facility provides standard feed and hay. Any special dietary requirements must be supplied by the owner. Owners must notify the Facility of any dietary changes or supplements.
Turnout and Exercise: Horses will be turned every other day in designated areas. Turnout schedules are managed by the Facility.
Stable and Stall Maintenance: The Facility will maintain clean stalls and provide fresh bedding regularly. Owners must keep the areas around their horse’s stall tidy and free of personal items.
Behavior and Conduct: Owners must treat Facility staff and other boarders with respect. Disruptive or unsafe behavior is not tolerated. Owners must follow all Facility rules and safety guidelines. This includes wearing appropriate attire and following safety procedures when handling horses.
Access and Hours: The Facility is open to boarders at regular business hours. Please verify with the management due to seasonal changes.
Visitors: Visitors must follow all Facility rules and are only allowed in designated areas. Visitors must be accompanied by the owner or Facility staff.
Liability Waiver: At the time of booking boarding and any other services at the Facility, all horse owners acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to the waiver releasing the Facility, its owners, and staff from any claims arising out of boarding services.
Non-Payment Consequences: If boarding fees are not paid for three (3) consecutive months, Reef AlHijaz reserves the right to take ownership of the horse by the common law of the Kingdom. The horse will become the property of Reef AlHijaz, and the owner forfeits all rights to the horse. Prior to taking ownership, Reef AlHijaz will make multiple attempts to contact the owner to resolve the payment issue.
Notice of Termination: Either party may terminate the Boarding Agreement with one (1) month written notice.
Removal of Horse: Upon termination, owners must remove all personal belongings and ensure the stall is clean within one (1) day of termination. Any outstanding fees must be paid before the horse is removed. The owner will be charged for daily care (SAR 8) until the balance is settled and the horse is removed from the stall.
Abandoned Horses: If a horse is not removed within ninety (90) days of termination, the Facility reserves the right to take legal action to recover fees and costs associated with the horse’s care and to take full ownership of the horse.
Electronic Agreement: This policy is provided in an electronic format. By signing up for boarding services at Reef AlHijaz, the horse owner acknowledges that they have read, understood, and accepted this policy. The electronic consent will be documented and securely stored by Reef AlHijaz.
At Reef AlHijaz, we are committed to providing high-quality care and a safe environment for all boarded horses. By adhering to this Equine Boarding Policy, we ensure a positive experience for both horse owners and their horses.
